Vipers And Academy Sports + Outdoors To Hold Snake Pit Tryouts Saturday

MCALLEN, TEXAS - The NBA Development League Rio Grande Valley Vipers and Academy Sports + Outdoors announced today they will be holding tryouts for their fan spirit section, the Snake Pit, tomorrow at the Academy locations in McAllen (Ware Rd. and 83) from 10:00 a.m.-to-Noon and Edinburg (Trenton Rd. and 281) from 2-to-4:00 p.m.
The Vipers' mascot, Fang, and the Vipers' dance team, the Snake Charmers, will serve as judges.
All Snake Pit members receive free season tickets with the requirements that they be loud and creative while cheering on the Vipers at all home games. Attendance is mandatory.
"We are always looking for ways to support or most passionate fans, and the Snake Pit gives us a great outlet to do so. They have already made an impact in making the Dodge Arena a tough place to play and adding members will only help to further improve on the already competitive in-game atmosphere," Vipers President Brian Michael Cooper said.
The Snake Pit is currently comprised of 13 members who were chosen during RGV Rocket Launch 2009.
