ALBUQUERQUE, NM - The Albuquerque Thunderbirds fell to the Bakersfield Jam on Friday night, 104-96. The Jam led from start to finish as the T-Birds struggled to find a rhythm throughout the game. Carlos Powell led the way for Albuquerque with 25 points.

Albuquerque shot just 41.7% from the field in the first half, and trailed 57-46 at the break.

The T-Birds were down 11 heading into the fourth quarter, but closed the gap to 83-76 after four quick points from Tony Danridge. The team trailed 91-85 with 6:50 to play after a corner three from Antoine Agudio.

The two teams traded baskets over the next four minutes, and Bakersfield held a 99-91 advantage with 1:53 on the clock. Bakersfield pushed the lead to ten on a layup from Blake Ahearn on their next possession, and the Thunderbirds were unable to get closer than 8 down the stretch.

Shane Edwards added 19 for the Thunderbirds. Danridge also scored in double figures for Albuquerque, scoring 17. Kurt Looby grabbed 12 rebounds and blocked 3 shots, while Chad Toppert also hauled in double digit rebounds with 10.

Reece Gaines led seven Jam players in double figures with 23 points. Ahearn added 18 for the visitors.

Albuquerque shot 43.7% from the field, while Bakersfield connected on 42.7%.
