Victoria's Gill Named ECHL Goaltender of the Month

PRINCETON, N.J. - Riley Gill of the Victoria Salmon Kings has been named the ECHL Goaltender of the Month for October.
The 24 year old was 3-0-0 with one shutout, a goals-against average of 1.33 and a .955 save percentage to help the Salmon Kings go 5-2-2 for a share of the Mountain Division lead with 12 points.
Gill opened the month with a 39-save performance in a 4-0 win at Idaho on Oct. 16. He followed that up with 25 saves in a 3-1 win at Las Vegas on Oct. 22 and ended the month making 21 saves in a 6-3 win against Ontario on Oct. 29.
The Northfield, Minnesota native made his pro debut at the end of last season appearing in three games with Kalamazoo, posting a 1-0-1 record with a 2.48 goals-against average and a save percentage of .929. He also saw action in four Kelly Cup Playoff games for the K-Wings, going 1-2 with a goals-against average of 2.26 and a .941 save percentage.
Gill played four seasons at Western Michigan University from 2006-2010 and was 39-56-12 with eight shutouts, a goals-against average of 2.95 and a save percentage of .915 in 111 games. He ended his tenure with the Broncos with the highest save percentage, most shutouts and and second best goals-against average in school history.
Runners-Up: Josh Tordjman, Bakersfield (2-2-0, 2.02 GAA, .946 save pct.), Chris Carrozzi, Gwinnett (4-0-1, 2.13 GAA, .935 save pct.) and Patrick Killeen, Wheeling (5-0-0, 1.93 GAA, .936 save pct.).
