Victoria Seals Welcome Knuckleball Princess

Victoria, BC - The Victoria Seals are proud to announce that female knuckleballer Eri Yoshida will start at Royal Athletic Park when the Chico Outlaws arrive next week. The game marks the 18-year-old's first road start this season, making her the first woman in baseball history to pitch professionally in three different countries.

A special press conference for media members will be held at 5:15 p.m. (PT) on Monday night when Yoshida will be available to speak through a translator. There will also be a post-game scrum with knuckleball sensation following her start on Tuesday night at Royal Athletic Park.

The Seals open up a three-game series against the Outlaws on Monday night. The first game of the set is a 7:05 p.m. (PT) start time, and also features the Black Press Baseball Card Giveaway! Players will be available to sign the limited edition cards, available to the first 1,000 fans, on the concourse prior to the start of game one.

On Tuesday night the Seals will match up against Yoshida, who makes her sixth start of the season at Royal Athletic Park. With the first pitch slated for 7:05 p.m. (PT), one lucky fan could win $10,000 if Victoria turns a triple play on Telus Triple Play Tuesday! The game also marks Unused Season Ticket Night, when fans can redeem their unused seats to witness history against the Outlaws.

Game three of the series will be a weekday afternoon contest at Royal Athletic Park. The 1:35 p.m. (PT) start time gives fans a chance to duck out of work early on Subway Winning Wednesday, when a Seals win sends every fan home with a free six-inch sub! Eri Yoshida will also be available for autographs following Wednesday afternoon's series finale.

The Seals wrap up a three-game series against the St. George RoadRunners tonight, a 6:05 p.m. (PT) start time from Bruce Hurst Field. The contest will not be broadcast on the Victoria Seals Radio Network, but will fans can still follow the action online via www.victoriaseals.ca. Victoria then returns home to kick off an eight game homestand on Friday night.

All proceeds from the eBay auction will be donated to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation, BC & Yukon Region! The Seals first annual Paint the Park Pink Night is slated for this Saturday at Royal Athletic Park.
