Victoria Royals Launch Summer High-Performance Training Camps for Local Minor Hockey Players

Victoria, BC - The Victoria Royals in partnership with Hockey Academy Canada are excited to announce its inaugural series of High-Performance Camps, to be offered in the summer of 2024 with additional team sessions planned for the winter of 2024-2025

Designed for aspiring hockey athletes seeking elite development, the Royals High-Performance Camps will be overseen by coaches from the Victoria Royals and National Hockey League, members of the current Victoria Royals roster as well as Western Hockey League alumni. The objective of the camps are to immerse Vancouver Island players in a major junior and National Hockey League environment to enhance on-ice skills, skating proficiency, hockey IQ, and overall off-ice athletic performance (nutrition, workouts, hydration, etc.). Players and their families will be provided with a clear understanding of the expectations, development strategies and scheduling of an elite hockey setting.

Key highlights of the Royals High-Performance Training Camps include:

Individualized player development strategies led by coaches with extensive experience in the Western Hockey League, National Hockey League and Hockey Canada.

Combine assessments, evaluations and feedback.

Access to a comprehensive player skill statistics database for understanding of a player's ability to that of his or her peers in Canada and internationally.

Video coaching and mentorship on specific habits, strengths and areas for improvements.

A multi-pillared instructional philosophy covering all facets of high-performance development.

The Victoria Royals are committed to offering each participant the best opportunity for hockey development on Vancouver Island.

We aspire for all players to have a positive experience, boosting their confidence and bettering their understanding of the necessary mindset and skills for a career as a hockey player.

The inaugural schedule includes the following events and locations:

U11 (2014 BY) - U15 (2009 BY) Camp

August 10th - 14th, 2024 @ Charlie Purdy Arena (Shawnigan Lake)

U11 (2014 BY) - U15 (2009 BY) Camp

August 18th - 22nd, 2024 @ Save-on-Foods Memorial Arena (Victoria, BC)

Train As the Royals - Minor Hockey Team (Season Camps)

September 2024 - January 2025 @ Save-on-Foods Memorial Arena (Victoria, BC). COMING SOON
