Buffalo Bisons News Release

The Buffalo Bisons today announced that left-handed reliever Vic Darensbourg has been activated to their roster. The Cleveland Indians also announced that they have released veteran reliever, Felix Heredia.

Darensbourg, 25, is coming off a stellar 2005 season where he was an International League All-Star with the Toledo Mud Hens before being promoted to the Detroit Tigers on July 22. He began the year by not allowing an earned run in 36 outings with Toledo, April 7-June 27. He allowed one earned run against Norfolk on June 30, the first and only earned run he would allow in 2005 at the Triple-A level. Overall, he was 2-0 with a 0.29ERA and seven saves in 44 games with the Mud Hens, limiting IL hitters to a .171 batting average (30.2IP, 17H, 3R, 1ER, 11BB, 30K). In 22 games with the Tigers, he was 1-1 with a 2.82ERA (22.1IP, 24H, 7R, &ER, 7BB, 9K).

Darensbourg was in Spring camp with the Baltimore Orioles prior to the 2006 season. He was designated for assignment on March 28 and released on April 7.

Darensbourg has pitched in 309 Major League games with the Marlins, Rockies, Expos, White Sox and Mets. He has a career 8-17 record in the Majors with a 4.86ERA and two saves.

Heredia, 30, began the 2006 season in extended Spring Training before being activated to the Bisons roster on April 16. In eight games with the Herd, he had no record and posted a 6.75ERA (8.0IP, 16H, 8R, 6ER, 7BB, 4K).
