Ottawa Lynx News and Notes:

RHP Winston Abreu has now gone seven straight outings without giving up an earned run (9.0 innings) ... RHP reliever Nick McCurdy leads the Lynx pitching staff with three wins, and has not given up a run in 9.1 consecutive innings over his last five outings ... The other McCurdy, Canadian OF Josh McCurdy has been swinging a mean bat of late. McCurdy is hitting .308 (8-for-26) in his last eight games and has provided the bulk of the Lynx offense with two homers and four RBI ... Lynx closer Eddy Rodriguez has been untouchable so far this season. Rodriguez has yet allow a run this season in eight games (10.0 IP) and has allowed six hits and struck out 11. When runners do get on base against Rodriguez, opponents are hitting a meager .063 against him ... The Lynx have a team ERA of 3.18, which is 6th best in the IL ... The best team ERA in the IL in 2005 was Toledo's 3.70 ... The bullpen as a whole has been very impressive for Ottawa this season posting a 9-4 record with a 2.70 ERA and 11 saves (tied for 4th in the IL) ... In 133.1 innings of work, the bullpen has combined to give up only 124 hits while striking out 117 batters ... Speaking of strikeouts, Lynx batters have struck out only 192 times this season, the fewest in the IL.

BUFFALO PROSPECTS: The Buffalo lineup features several top Prospects, including the top prospect in the organization 3B Andy Marte. Marte was rated as the 14th best prospect in all of Baseball by Baseball America prior to the 2006 season. Also with the Bisons is LHP Jeremy Sowers, rated the Indians 2nd best prospect prior to the 2006 season. Sowers will square off with Lynx top prospect Hayden Penn in the first game of the Lynx/Bisons series on Saturday.
