OTTAWA) July 16, 2008 - Ottawa Rapidz starter and pitching coach Mike Kusiewicz is voted this week's Ottawa Rapidz Fan Favourite after pitching two quality starts in the last seven days.
The veteran lefty pitched two gems beginning with a 3-2 win over the Atlantic City Surf, Kusiewicz's second straight win. He then got a no-decision in a 2-1 victory over the first half winner, the Québec City Capitales. In his last two games Kusiewicz pitched 13.1 innings, allowing three runs (all earned) for a 2.03 ERA, 14 hits, four walks and struck out seven batters.
On Monday, July 14, Kusiewicz started his 200th professional career game. He is two wins shy of career number 75.
Rapidz fans can vote for their favourite Player at any Rapidz home game. All ballots are entered into a weekly contest to win a Suite Night with the Rapidz for 12!
The Rapidz now head to Nashua to take on the Pride from July 17 to July 20. The Rapidz are then back in town on July 21 for a three-game series against Cecil Fielder's Atlantic City Surf.
