Venditte Promoted to Tampa

CHARLESTON, SC - The New York Yankees announced that South Atlantic League All-Star reliever Pat Venditte, professional baseball's lone switch-pitcher, has been promoted to the Class-A Advanced Tampa Yankees.

Venditte leaves Charleston leading the Sally League in saves with 20 and is third in the league with 28 appearances. The Creighton University product posted a 2-2 record with a 1.47 ERA (5ER/30.2 IP), nine walks and 73 strikeouts while holding the opposition to a .212 batting average.

In the few months that Venditte was a part of the Lowcountry community, he was nationally recognized with an article written by ESPN The Magazine's Rick Reilly, feature pieces by The CBS Evening News and ESPN's E:60 in addition to countless national radio interviews.
