Vazquez Dazzles in 2-0 Shutout Win

Savannah, GA - Kyle Vazquez fired six shutout innings and Chris Dominguez's second-inning solo home run gave the Augusta GreenJackets the only scoring they'd need in a dominant 2-0 win over the Savannah Sand Gnats at Historic Grayson Stadium on Monday night.
Vasquez (1-0) struck out eight and allowed just three hits without a walk in his six scoreless frames. Chris Dominguez's solo home run in the second inning gave Vasquez all the support he'd need in the victory. Ryan Cavan added insurance with a seeing-eye RBI single an inning later.
A trio of relievers - Jose Casilla, Devan Kline and Jason Jarvis - held the Sand Gnats to just two hits over three scoreless innings to close the game. Jarvis earned his first save of the season in the process.
The GreenJackets will send right Jeremy Toole to the mound on Tuesday to face Armando Rodriguez. First pitch will come at 7:05 p.m. with the pregame action beginning at 6:50 p.m. on WRDW-AM 1630, www.greenjacketsbaseball.com and www.wrdwam.com.
