Bloomington PrairieThunder News Release
BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - Bloomington PrairieThunder center Rick Varone was placed on the 14-day International Hockey League injury list Tuesday, it was announced by coach Jarrod Skalde.
The 5-foot-9, 195-pound Varone suffered a broken wrist in Sunday's game at Quad Cities. He has three goals and two assists in 15 games since joining the PrairieThunder in a trade with Flint. He scored two of his goals in the last three games.
Rookie forward T.J. Schneider, who joined the team last week on a 14-day agreement, was signed to an IHL contract Wednesday to replace Varone on the roster. Schneider has seen action in two games with no statistics.
The PrairieThunder, which stands in fourth place in the league standings with a 25-22-2-5 record, returns to action Friday with a 7:05 p.m. game against Fort Wayne at U.S. Cellular Coliseum.
