Quad City Mallards News Release

MOLINE, Ill. (March 2, 2010) - The Quad City Mallards, proud International Hockey League (IHL) affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers, have partnered with the Salvation Army of the Quad Cities to hold a clothing drive on this Friday night when the Mallards take on the Dayton Gems at the i wireless Center at 7:05 p.m.

"We're very excited to be teaming up with The Salvation Army to provide assistance to those in need in our community. The fans of the Quad Cities have already shown tremendous generosity in contributing to all of the charitable endeavours we've taken part in this season and we look forward to their continued commitment to the community making the clothing drive a success," said Mallards Executive Vice President and General Manager Shawn Hackman.

Fans are encouraged to bring used clothing to next Friday's game; donations will be collected by The Salvation Army at i wireless Center entrances. Clothes donated can be suitable for any season.

"This is a winning opportunity for everyone. Fans get to clean out the clutter, the items are kept out of the landfill, the goods are made available to those hit hardest by the recession and the sale of the items supports drug and alcohol rehab right here in the QC " said Salvation Army Administrator Major Jan Sjogren.

Tickets for Friday's game and all remaining regular season Mallards home games are available at the i wireless Center box office, Ticketmaster outlets and www.ticketmaster.com or through Ticketmaster charge-by-phone toll free at 1-800-745-3000. The box office is open Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., on Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and on game days from 10:00 a.m. through the end of the second period.
