
Meijer IHL Monthly Honors For February Awarded

ROCHESTER, MI--- The International Hockey League (IHL) announced Tuesday that Muskegon center Todd Robinson has been named the Meijer IHL Player of the Month, Flint forward John Mori has been named the Meijer IHL Rookie of the Month and Fort Wayne goaltender Tim Haun has been named the Meijer IHL Goaltender of the Month for the month of February.
Robinson finished the month of February with three goals and 15 assists for 18 points in 12 games played. He scored points in 10 of the 12 games played, with five of those being multi-point games, including three three-point nights. Robinson achieved a five-game and a four-game point streak during the month, making him Muskegon's top performer for February. The 31-year-old Trail, British Columbia native currently leads the IHL in scoring with 82 points (18 goals, 64 assists) in 54 games played so far this season. Robinson reached the 1,000 point mark in his pro career on Sunday, February 21st when he dished out three assists.
Other players nominated for the Meijer IHL Player of the Month include: Bloomington forward Craig Macdonald, Dayton forward Mike Vaskivuo, Flint forward John Mori, Fort Wayne left wing Matt Syroczynski, Port Huron left wing Tab Lardner and Quad City forward Chris Lipsett.
Mori completed the month scoring nine goals and nine assists for 18 points in 12 games played. He registered points in nine of those 12 games. He had his highest scoring night of the season on February 20th, netting his first professional hat trick, scoring one even-strength, one power play and one shorthanded tally. His last goal of the three-goal hat trick was the game-winner with 1:08 left in the game to propel the Generals to the win over the first-place Lumberjacks. The 23-year-old Westport, Connecticut native is currently second among IHL rookies in scoring with 44 points (22 goals, 22 assists) and leads in shorthanded tallies (5) and shots on goal (198). Mori enters the month of March riding a six-game point streak, scoring 13 points (7 goals, 6 assists) during that stretch.
Other players nominated for the Meijer IHL Rookie of the Month include: Bloomington right wing Matt McIlvane, Dayton forward Jon Ornelas, Fort Wayne right wing Sean O'Connor, Muskegon left wing Matt Robertson, Port Huron forward Brandon Naurato and Quad City right wing Brandon Marino.
Haun wrapped up the month of February with a 5-1-0-0 record, playing just under 400 minutes in seven games. He led all IHL goaltenders during the month with a 1.95 goals against average and never allowed more than two goals scored against him in any single game. He made a total of 180 saves, giving him a.933 save percentage. Of his five wins, two came on home ice, where Haun has amassed a seven-game home winning streak, with his last loss at Memorial Coliseum coming back on December 9th. The 29-year-old Solsgirth, Manitoba native currently ranks first among IHL goal-tenders in goals against average (2.20) and save percentage (.922). Haun also ranks second in wins (20) and minutes played (1882:35).
Other goaltenders nominated for the Meijer IHL Goaltender of the Month include: Bloomington's Sebastian Dahm, Dayton's Derek MacIntyre, Flint's Rob Nolan, Muskegon's Matt Lundin, Port Huron's Adam Russo and Quad City's Kyle Jones.
