
Mori Named IHL Rookie Of The Month

FLINT, MI - The Flint Generals rookie forward John Mori earned league recognition Tuesday when he was named Meijer/IHL Rookie of the Month for the month of February.
The 23-year old rookie racked up 18 points last month over the course of twelve games, netting nine goals and nine assists. Thirteen of his eighteen points came within the last six games, scoring 7 goals and 6 assists. Mori's best night this season came February 20th against Muskegon when he had a 5 point night that included 3 goals and 2 assists.
This Westport, CT native leads the league in shorthanded goals with 5, is second amongst rookies in scoring and goals with 44 points and 22 goals. The award is Mori's second IHL Rookie of the Month award and sixth award overall this season.
Flint returns to action Wednesday night at Perani Arena for Lapeer City Pride Night when they welcome back the IceHawks. In the last five meetings with Port Huron, the Generals have a 4-1-0-0 record, including Sunday's 4-3 shootout victory.
