Vandermeer to undergo surgery

NORFOLK, VA – Today, the Norfolk Admirals announced that defensemen Jim Vandermeer is scheduled to undergo surgery to repair a torn labrum in his hip on Friday, March 11th. Vandermeer will be out for the remainder of the season.

The 25-year old native of Red Deer, AB, has been scratched from the Admirals ' lineup for the past eight games. His surgery will be performed by Dr. Mark Philippon in Vail, CO.

The Admirals' next home games are Friday, March 11h and Saturday, March 12th at 7:30 p.m. versus East Division rivals, the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins (Pittsburgh Penguins).
