LOOKING AHEAD:
The cities of Binghamton and Rochester are in their 23rd season as bitter AHL rivals... On Wednesday, the Senators get their first of two cracks this week at ending the Americans' run at the history books; Rochester has won 17 straight on home ice, two shy of Philadelphia's league record, since a 3-2 shootout loss to Hamilton on Dec. 11... Binghamton has gone 2-1-2-0 in the season series, with ex-Amerk Denis Hamel leading the way with eight points (2g, 6a)... Forward Paul Gaustad has four goals and two assists in the last four games for Rochester.

Currently six points back, Syracuse can close the gap in the North Division playoff hunt as fourth-place Edmonton visits the War Memorial on Wednesday... The Road Runners snapped a nine-game winless skid with a 2-1 overtime win over the Crunch four nights ago, as Mike Bishai got the deciding goal... Tony Salmelainen scored two goals in a win over Syracuse on Nov. 3, but has just one goal in his last 24 games for Edmonton... Joe Motzko has a point in six straight games for Syracuse (3g, 4a)... The Road Runners are fourth in the AHL in road power play efficiency (16.5%), while the Crunch are 27th in home penalty killing (79.6%).

Philadelphia kicks off a four-game trip through New England with a stop in Lowell on Wednesday night... The Lock Monsters won the teams' previous meeting on Feb. 11, a 1-0 decision thanks to a Mike Zigomanis goal and 28 saves from Cam Ward... The Phantoms, one point out of first in the East Division, have won six of their last eight road contests, while Lowell has two regulation losses in its last 18 home games (13-2-0-3)... Jon Sim has scored seven goals in his last six games for Philadelphia... The Lock Monsters, who sit third in the Atlantic Division, are 11-2-0-1 against the East this season.
