Vancouver Gives Up Six Run Lead In Series Finale

(Memorial Stadium - Everett, WA) - For the second straight game the Canadians (3-4) couldn't hold on to a substantial lead as the Everett Aquasox (4-2) scored 11 unanswered runs to take the series finale from Vancouver 11-6 on Sunday afternoon.

After grabbing a run in the top of the 1st inning, the Canadians managed five runs off of Everett starter LHP Steven Ewing which included a two-run double off the bat of 1B BalbinoFuenmayor who had three RBI on the day.

With the Canadians leading 6-0, the Aquasox got their first run of the game in the bottom of the 4th inning off of Vancouver starter RHP Ben White as 1B Taylor Ard hit his 7th home run of the summer.

Vancouver had a 6-3 lead going into the bottom of the 7th inning when AquasoxC Mike Zunino struck again hitting his 6th home run of the season off of Canadians reliever LHP Kyle Anderson to cut the lead to 6-5.

In the bottom of the 8th, the Aquasox completed the comeback and then some as they sent ten hitters to the plate including SS KetelMartewho hit a single to LF Nick Baligod that scored LF Mike Faulkner giving Everett the second of six runs that pushed the Aquasox to a 11-6 victory over Vancouver.

With the loss, Vancouver falls 1 1/2 games back of West Division leading Everett heading into an off-day.

Vancouver Canadians Baseball returns to Scotiabank Field on Tuesday, July 31st to open a three-game series vs. Salem-Keizer starting at 7:05pm.
