Tri-City ValleyCats News Release

TROIS-RIVIERES, QC, CANADA - After dominating in the first two games of the midweek series, the Tri-City ValleyCats (30-31) could not earn the midweek series sweep over Atlantic Division rival Equipe Quebec (28-33). The 'Cats fell in a 4-0 sweep at Stade Quillorama to round out their first-ever series North of the border.

Despite out-hitting Quebec, 8-6, Tri-City left five runners on base and could not manage a run in what began as a pitcher's duel. The home team broke through on the scoreboard in the home half of the fourth with a two-run homer and gained insurance via a pair of RBI singles in the bottom of the fifth.

Right-hander Jose Cruz (0-1) took the loss for the 'Cats despite going seven innings, while Miguel Cienfuegos (6-5) picked up the complete game victory on the mound for Quebec. Brad Zunica led the visitors offensively with his second consecutive three-hit game.

Following a six-game road trip, the 'Cats will return to Joseph L. Bruno Stadium to host the Sussex County Miners for a weekend series on Friday, August 6 at 7:00 PM.
