New York Boulders News Release

Rockland County, NY - Juan Silverio provided Tri-City with the winning run with a 10th inning single as the Valley Cats downed the New York Boulders, 5-4, on Friday at Palisades Credit Union Park.

Silverio's hit came with two outs off of New York reliever Tanner Kiest, who had struck out Denis Phipps and Brad Zunica before surrendering the single. The hit scored Nelson Molina, who had started the 10th inning on second base as per the international tiebreaker rule.

Kiest took the loss, falling to 3-8 on the year, while Patrick Murphy got the win for Tri-City, improving to 4-2.

Trey Cochran-Gill pitched a scoreless 10th to pick up his 21st save of the year.

Tri-City battled back from a two-run deficit with a pair of seventh inning runs off New York starter Ryan Munoz to deadlock the game at 4-4 on a two-run double by Zunica, his second and third RBI of the night.

The Boulders had grabbed the lead with a four-run sixth inning. Trailing 2-0, Kevonte Mitchell worked a one-out walk off Tri-City starter Josh Hiatt. Zach Kirtley followed with a double that ended Hiatt's night and brought on Francisco Jiminez.

Tucker Nathans was walked intentionally to load the bases. Jiminez then balked with Ray Hernandez at the plate to force in the Boulders' first run. Jiminez regrouped to strikeout Hernandez, but Marcus Mastrobuoni followed with a three-run home run, his seventh of the year, to put New York up 4-2.

Tri-City had taken a 2-0 lead with single runs in the first and third innings. In the first inning, Zunica hit his 11th home run of the season, while a Denis Phipps double knocked in a run in the third.

Ryan Munoz started for New York and went seven innings, allowing four runs on 10 hits. He walked one and struck out four.

Meanwhile, over 5 1/3 innings of work, Hiatt surrendered four hits and two runs, while walking two and striking out three.
