Kalamazoo Wings News Release

KALAMAZOO- The Kalamazoo Wings received depth at their blue line this afternoon, as the American Hockey League's Springfield Falcons reassigned Denny Urban.

A four-year pro, Urban recorded 11 points (2 goals, 9 assists) in 31 games this season with Springfield. Starting his pro career with the Reading Royals, Urban has spent the past two seasons primarily in the AHL.

During the 2011-12 season, Urban led the team in plus/minus (+15) and set the Royals record for most assists (35), and points (47) by a defenseman.

Before turning pro, Urban was a four-year standout at Robert Morris University. Urban is the Colonials all-time point leader among defenseman with 112 points. Urban lead all Robert Morris defensemen in goals and assists all four years.

In a separate transaction, the K-Wings have also released defenseman Ildar Telyakov.

The K-Wings will return home on Friday, April 3rd with a 7:30 p.m. face-off versus the Walleye on Karnival Night presented by the Airzoo. April 3rd will also be a 3, 2, 1 Countdown to Fun!, featuring $3 beer, $2 Pepsi products and $1 hot dogs featuring Winter Sausage hot dogs and Harding's Friendly Markets buns.

As a reminder anyone coming to upcoming Wings Stadium events, including K-Wings hockey, may have to find alternate routes to the facility due to the closure of the Sprinkle Road exit (exit 80) on I-94. Last week, Wings Stadium announced several ways for guests to arrive to the complex. Click here for alternate routes.

Tickets for all K-Wings home games are currently on sale at Wings Stadium Ticket Office, all Ticketmaster locations, including www.ticketmaster.com or by calling (800) 745-3000.

These plans along with group ticket packages (15 or more people) may be ordered through the K-Wings front office by calling (269) 743-6011.
