
Joe Zarbo Joins IceMen

EVANSVILLE, Ind.- The Evansville IceMen, presented by Coors Light, have signed forward Joe Zarbo to an ATO. Zarbo is expected to play in the IceMen's three games this weekend including Evansville's home finale on Sunday.
Hailing from Grand Island, N.Y., Zarbo just finished his senior season at Clarkson University, where he netted a team best 12 goals. He also led the Golden Knights in goals as sophomore when potted a career high 13 pucks.
As a senior, Zarbo dealt out eight assists to finish with 20 overall points. He posted a +3 rating in his final college campaign. In his last two seasons at Clarkson, Zarbo knocked in four game winning goals.
The 23-year-old Zarbo played 136 career games with Golden Knights over four years, where he lit the lamp 34 times and collected 32 assists. He picked up a hat trick on Jan. 25, 2013 against Harvard and had a career-high four points in a 5-1 Clarkson victory over the Crimson. Because of this effort, Zarbo was named ECAC Player of the Week.
Before he skated for Clarkson, Zarbo played junior hockey with four different teams. In his final year of juniors, Zarbo blasted in 33 goals and added 29 assists in 50 games for the Wellington Dukes of the OJHL. The 6'0, 188 pound forward led the Dukes to an OJHL Championship that season with 11 goals and 17 assists in 20 playoff games.
Zarbo comes from a hockey family. His older brothers Matt and Mark both played college hockey. Joe and Matt played three years together at Clarkson University.
Zarbo is expected to make his home debut on Sunday, when the IceMen return to the Ford Center for their home finale against the South Carolina Stingrays. The final IceMen home game of the season begins at 5 p.m. The Zooperstars will perform during intermission and entertain fans at the game.
