D.C. United News Release
Washington, D.C. (March 9, 2012) - D.C. United announced today that the club will collect non-perishable food items during the month of March to benefit Children of Mine. This season marks the ninth year of the United Drives campaign, which collects much-needed items to help with each beneficiary's mission. Children Of Mine is an after school program that provides children from ages four to 18 a clean, safe place to go after school for hot meals, tutoring, and sports activities.
Donations are accepted in the D.C. United offices on non-game days, located on the fourth floor of Gate A. D.C. United's home game against FC Dallas on March 30 is the designated game-day collection date for canned food. Please drop off items at Gate A, beginning two hours prior to kick-off. The booth is open until 15 minutes into the first half.
D.C. United will continue to collect items to benefit non-profit organizations within the Metropolitan Area throughout the coming season. All fans that donate an item will receive a "Buy One, Get One Free" ticket voucher, redeemable for that day's match or another 2012 regular season home game.
