TEAM NOTES
The club's 8-4-4 record (28 points) continues their best start to a season in team history through 16 games.
The Union set an all-time club record for shots blocked in a single match with 13 ... the previous team record was 10, set at Houston on March 19, 2011.
Since the Union entered MLS in 2010, only three other teams have ever recorded 13 or more blocked shots in a single match ... Colorado totaled 14 blocked shots vs. Real Salt Lake on March 15, 2017, while two other teams matched today's Union total of 13: Chicago at D.C. United (October 15, 2011) and Minnesota at LAFC (May 9, 2018).
Union defender Kai Wagner's five blocked shots today ties a club record, set three times previously: Danny Califf vs. Houston (3/19/11), Amobi Okugo vs. Portland (3/8/14) and Auston Trusty vs. Atlanta (6/2/18).
The Union became the first team to hand Minnesota United a loss at their home field this season.
Auston Trusty scored the game-winning goal and his second career MLS goal. He scored his first MLS goal during his rookie season on September 15, 2018 vs. Montreal.
In his 80th start for the Union, Haris Medunjanin scored his first goal of the season (fifth career), his last goal was scored July 11, 2018 at Chicago.
Jamiro Monteiro scored his third goal of the season in his 12th game played. He now has three goals and three assists on the season.
Ilsinho picked up his fourth helper of the season and is now tied for team-lead in assists (also Kai Wagner and Haris Medunjanin).
Alejandro Bedoya made his 85th start for the club.
Andre Blake remains unbeaten against Minnesota United and is now 2-0-1.
The Union return home to Talen Energy Stadium on Saturday, June 8 in a regular-season match against New York Red Bulls (7:30 p.m. ET/PHL17).
