Union Homegrown Paxten Aaronson scores his first career MLS goal in loss

Foxborough, MA - The Philadelphia Union fell to New England Revolution on the road Sunday night in Foxborough in a 2-1 loss. New England got on the board first with a goal from Matt Polster in the 10th minute. In his first career MLS start, homegrown Paxten Aaronson evened the score with a strike from inside the box in the 31st minute, the first goal of his career. New England retook the lead in the 39th minute after being awarded a penalty kick. Goalkeeper Andre Blake made the initial save but New England's Gustavo Bou was able to put away the rebound. The Union were not able to find the equalizer in the second half of the game, coming close with multiple shots in the final minutes. With the loss, the Union moved to fourth in the Eastern Conference standings.

The Union head to Mexico City to take on Club America for the first leg of the CONCACAF Champions League Semi Final on Thursday, August 12 (10:00 p.m. ET / FS1).
