PORTLAND, Ore. - The Portland Timbers earned a 3-2 win over Real Salt Lake at Providence Park on Saturday night. After going up by two early in the match, their lead was split by an RSL goal just moments before the half. Portland extended its lead midway through the second half, but Salt Lake once again responded with a goal of their own in the final stretch of the match. The Timbers held onto the lead, recording their sixth win at home this season.
Goal Scorers And Playmakers
Felipe Mora scored his team-leading sixth goal of the season, and has registered a goal in four of Portland's last five games. Dairon Asprilla tallied his fourth goal this year, a single season best for him, and a second assist of the 2021 campaign. Yimmi Chara recorded his second goal of the regular season, making him the sixth Timber to record two or more goals this year. Marvin Loría tallied a team-best fourth assist, a single-season record for him. In his eighth appearance this year, Sebastián Blanco registered his second assist, making him the ninth player on the team to record two or more assists in the 2021 campaign.

The Timbers extended their unbeaten streak at Providence Park to four (3-0-1) in front of their largest crowd this year (23,577). RSL - Damir Kreilach (Pablo Ruiz), 80th minute: Receiving a long pass from out of the air near the top of the box, Kreilach fired a shot off the bounce and into the top netting of the goal.
