Sporting Kansas City vs. León, Seattle Sounders FC vs. Tigres Open Leagues Cup Play this Tuesday

NEW YORK CITY & MEXICO CITY - The 25-player competition rosters for the opening Leagues Cup 2021 matches this Tuesday were announced today. Alan Pulido (Sporting KC), Ángel Mena (León), Raul Ruidíaz (Seattle Sounders) and Florian Thauvin (Tigres) headline the August 10 matches in Kansas City and Seattle.

Also, ahead of the Saturday night 30-Player roster deadline, the following changes were made to two team Competition Rosters. Pumas added forward Ángel García to its Leagues Cup competition roster. Also, Santos has replaced Santiago Muñoz with forward Alessio Da Cruz.

THREE THINGS TO KNOW

The first ever Leagues Cup game was played on July 23, 2019 between Chicago Fire and Cruz Azul.

Each one of this year's MLS clubs have a player that used to play in LIGA MX: Orlando's Pedro Gallese (Veracruz), Sounders' Raul Ruidíaz (Morelia), Kansas City's Alan Pulido (Tigres, Chivas), and NYCFC's Maxi Moralez (León).

Three of the seven previous Leagues Cup matches were won in penalty shootouts -- LA Galaxy beat Xolos, Houston Dynamo beat America and Tigres beat America.AUGUST 10
