Philadelphia Union News Release

Chester, Pa. (September 27, 2010) - Philadelphia Union (7-12-6, 27 points) head into Major League Soccer action with two games this week, visiting the Colorado Rapids (10-7-8, 38 points) on Wednesday, September 29, and hosting Houston Dynamo at PPL Park on Saturday, October 2. Scheduled to kick off at 9:30 p.m. EST, Wednesday's match will be broadcast live on the Live Well HD Network, while Saturday's encounter can be followed on that same network and Telefutura at 4:00 p.m., EST.

Coming off their best MLS performance so far this season with a 3-0 win against Chivas USA at PPL Park last Saturday's afternoon, the Union will face Jordan Harvey's former team on Wednesday. The Rapids are coming off of a 1-1 draw at Western Conference runner-up Real Salt Lake that keeps them closer to clinching their first playoff spot in franchise history.

Three days later, the Union will host the Houston Dynamo (7-14-5, 26 points) for an afternoon encounter at PPL Park. The Dynamo are coming off of a 3-1 win against D.C. United that had the longest stoppage time period in MLS with over 11 minutes of play. The match ended with the ejection of both coaches, meaning that Dynamo head coach Dominic Kinnear may not be on the sideline on Saturday, pending a MLS decision.

Alejandro Moreno scored for just the second time this season, as the forward netted the opening goal against Chivas USA. Brazilian midfielder Fred did so by scoring the second goal of the match, just before halftime. Sebastien Le Toux regains the lead in combined goals and assists with a total of 22 (12 goals and 10 assists), just one point ahead of LA Galaxy's Landon Donovan, thanks to the Union's third tally of the game signed off a free kick by the Frenchman.
