Sarnia Sting News Release
SARNIA, ON - In an effort to raise funds for The Inn of the Good Shepherd, the Sarnia Sting Hockey Club and Mainstreet Credit Union are teaming up to bring you Ugly Christmas Sweater Night on Friday, December 11th at the SSEC.
The players will don specialty Ugly Christmas Sweater Jerseys during their game against the Windsor Spitfires on Friday December 11th. The jerseys will be up for auction following the game, with proceeds supporting The Inn. Further auction details to follow.
In addition to the online auction proceeds, fans can support the Inn of the Good Shepherd by bringing non-perishable items to the game, or by purchasing their tickets to the game from either the Inn, or one of Mainstreet Credit Union's 5 Sarnia-Lambton branches. $5 from each ticket purchased will be donated back to the Inn.
Myles Vanni, Executive Director of The Inn of The Good Shepherd recently said "What a fun promotion with the Sarnia Sting Hockey club. An Ugly Christmas sweater you'll want to have! The auction of these jerseys will undoubtedly be a roaring success! The Inn is grateful for the Sting and Mainstreet Credit Union thinking of us and the community we serve each and every day."
Similar to what they did last year, Mainstreet Credit Union will be setting up a photo booth on the concourse where fans can have a photo taken while dressed in their Christmas worst!
Closer to the date, fans will be able to go online and bid on specialty experiences at the December 11th game. All proceeds will go into the donation pool. Items include:
- Work the Sarnia Sting Goal Horn
- Take part in the ceremonial puck drop
- Watch warm-ups from the bench
- Take part in the fan tunnel
- Receive a dressing room tour
* Auction details & opening date to be released later this month
Stay tuned - jersey design will slowly be leaked over the course of the next month.
