Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC News Release

PITTSBURGH (May 15, 2015) - United States women's national team member Meghan Klingenberg will host a special training clinic with players from the Riverhounds Development Academy at Highmark Stadium next Tuesday, May 19.

Klingenberg will work with Riverhounds head coach Mark Steffens and assistant coaches Josh Rife and Niko Katic to perform a series of drills with the RDA Under-15, U-16 and U-17 girls' teams. The session will run from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.

The event is part of the U.S. women's team's "#SheBelieves in her Community" initiative aimed at sending a message to young girls that they can accomplish their goals and dreams. Each member of the national team roster will be interacting with fans in locations ranging from their former high schools and clubs to local children's hospitals during a celebration from May 19 to 24.

Gibsonia native and Pine-Richland High School graduate Klingenberg is one of 23 women called up to represent the U.S. at next month's FIFA Women's World Cup in Canada.

This will be Klingenberg's first appearance at the senior tournament. She won a gold medal at the equivalent U-20 tournament in 2008 when goals from Sydney Leroux and Alex Morgan sealed a 2-1 win over North Korea in the final.

Members of the public are invited to attend. The Highmark Stadium sports bar will be serving snacks and refreshments during the evening.
