URMC Sports Medicine & the Rochester Rhinos Team up for Athletic Combine

Rochester, NY - The Rochester Rhinos and the University of Rochester Medical Center Sports Medicine have teamed up to put on a combine for youth in the greater Rochester area. The combine will be held at Sahlen's Stadium from 7am to 12pm on Saturday, May 16th, and will give the youth a chance to compare to national norms in areas such as speed, agility, power, strength, and much more.

URMC Sports Medicine, a program at URMC Orthopedics and Rehabilitation, offers the latest in medical and surgical care to prevent, evaluate, treat, and rehabilitate injuries for both recreational and competitive athletes of all ages. This combine will help individuals identify areas to focus on for performance training and injury prevention.

"UR Medicine Sports Medicine is excited to partner with the Rochester Rhinos for Saturday's sports camp - we share the goal of helping young athletes enjoy their sport, build their skills and have a great time. UR Medicine Sports Medicine specializes in helping athletes not only recover from sports injury, but also learn how to properly condition their bodies to be stronger, more effective at their sport and less prone to injury. We're looking forward to helping these young athletes have fun and learn some valuable training and conditioning skills," a UR Medicine Sports Medicine representative stated.

"It's great to work with URMC in regards to risk management. We want to help educate our youth groups in regards to their ability to limit injuries," President/COO Pat Ercoli stated. "In addition to improving their physical strength it will help to elevate their game at the highest level."

URMC medical professionals and athletic performance specialist have used the latest medical research and cutting edge technology to develop a comprehensive athletic performance screen and will help individuals target areas for athletic growth.
