
Tyler Plantier Notches First Pro Home Run as Boise Wins 4-2 over Salem-Keizer

A 4-2 victory over the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes (Short Season A affiliate of the San Francisco Giants) lifted the Boise Hawks (Short Season affiliate of the Colorado Rockies) to their fifth straight win and eighth win at Memorial Stadium.
Tyler Plantier, who made his debut in a Hawks uniform, blasted his first professional home run, and hit, over the right field wall and made it 4-1 Boise in the bottom of the fourth inning.
The scoring for Boise was kickstarted early. The Hawks scored three runs in the bottom of the first inning and the fourth game in a row that they have scored in the first. With the bases loaded, Yorvis Torrealba lifted a ball to center field for a sacrifice fly that scored Bladimir Restituyo, making it 1-0 Boise.
The next batter, Daniel Cope, then lined a 2-RBI double that scored both Joe Aeilts and Aaron Schunk advancing the Hawks lead to 3-0 after the first inning.
After Volcanoes right fielder Franklin Labour reached on a fielder's choice, Ricardo Genoves rocketed his second double of the season to score Labour and cut the deficit to 3-1.
Jacob Wallace collected his second save of the season in the top of the ninth. After walking he batter, he responded with two swinging strikeouts to close out the game at 4-2.
The finale of the three-game series will be held on Sunday with a first pitch time set for 5:15.
