Tyler Donati Named ECHL Player Of The Week

The ECHL announced Tuesday that Elmira Jackals winger Tyler Donati has been named the Sher-Wood Hockey ECHL Player of the Week for Jan. 18-24.
In the Jackals two routs of the Toledo Walleye this past weekend, Donati collected eight points (3g-5a) and a +5. Donati had his third five-point game of 2009-2010 in Saturday's 8-2 win, notching a goal along with four assists. He scored two goals and had an assist in Friday's 7-2 victory.
Now in his third season with the Jackals, Donati leads the league with 38 assists and is third in the ECHL with 56 points.
The Oakville, Ontario native helped propel the Jackals to first in the ECHL in goals per game at 3.83 with his effort this past weekend.
On behalf of Donati, a case of pucks will be donated to an Elmira youth hockey organization by Sher-Wood Hockey, the exclusive puck supplier of the ECHL. Since beginning its sponsorship of the award in 2000-2001, Sher-Wood Hockey has donated more than 23,100 pucks to youth hockey organizations in ECHL cities.
Donati and the Jackals return home for three games this weekend after finishing the road trip with two wins over Toledo. On Friday and Saturday, the Jackals host the Gwinnett Gladiators at First Arena at 7:35 p.m. before closing out the weekend on Sunday at 4:05 p.m. against the Walleye.
Fans attending Friday's game will receive blowhorns from Chemung ARC while on Saturday, Jackals fans will receive Jackals concept photos sponsored by Cerebral Palsy of Chemung County. After Sunday's game, fans are invited to stick around and skate with the Jackals.
