Ryan Cruthers Loaned To Norfolk

Reading, PA - The Reading Royals of the ECHL, affiliate of the Toronto Maple Leafs and Boston Bruins of the National Hockey League and the Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey League, today announced that forward Ryan Cruthers has been loaned to the Norfolk Admirals of the AHL. In a separate transaction, the Royals placed forward Olivier Labelle on the 3-Day Injured Reserve.

For Cruthers, a second year pro from Farmingdale, New York, this marks the first call-up to the AHL this season. In thirty-six games with the Royals this year, Cruthers has scored eleven goals, assisted on twenty-seven others (thirty-eight points) and picked up forty-seven penalty minutes. Labelle, a fourth year pro from St. Eustache, Quebec, has scored thirteen goals and assisted on nine others (twenty-two points) and picked up 103 penalty minutes in thirty-six games with the Royals this year.

Reading returns to action on Wednesday night (January 27, 2010 @ 7:05 pm) when the Gwinnett Gladiators visit the Sovereign Center for the first time this season. The first 1500 fans that night get a collector's card set of the Royals All-Time Great Goaltenders (Barry Brust, Yutaka Fukufuji, Jon Quick, Cody Rudkowsky, and Jeff Sanger). The Royals game night broadcast on the Royals Radio Network presented by Transmissions by Arbogast will kick off with the pre-game warm-up show at 6:35 pm.
