Arkansas Travelers News Release

The Arkansas Travelers have placed catcher Alberto Rosario (lower back strain) and first baseman Jay Brossman (right hamstring strain) on the disabled list. The Travs will get Dillon Baird and Ikko Sumi from class A Inland Empire.

Rosario is hitting .294 in five games on the year with two RBIs. He's missed the past 4 games and will be available to come off the disabled list on April 24.

Brossman has a .257 average in 11 games with five RBIs and three stolen bases. He injured his hamstring while running out an infield single in Monday's 4-3 15-inning win and had to be replaced. Brossman is eligible to return on April 27.

In 12 games this season, Baird, 23, bats left-handed and has played first base, third base and served as designated hitter, while hitting .372 with three homeruns and 13 RBIs. From Prescott, Ariz., Baird was drafted in the 11th round by the Angels in 2009. He hit .270 last season at class A Rancho Cucamonga with 13 homeruns and 58 RBIs.

Sumi, 23, is a switch-hitting catcher who is hitless in 12 at bats this year. He is from Yokohama, Japan, and hit .238 at Rancho Cucamonga last year. He has been with the Angels' organization since 2007 when he signed as a free agent.
