Drillers April 20 Homestand Promotions

Tulsa Drillers News Release


The Tulsa Drillers will be home for a brief 4-game homestand at ONEOK Field beginning on Wednesday, April 20. The Drillers will be hosting the Springfield Cardinals (St. Louis Cardinals) with all four games starting at 7:05PM.

Promotions for the homestand include a Pineapple Palooza on Wednesday the 20th to celebrate National Pineapple Upside Down Cake Day. There will also be a special appearance by Keystone's Keith Stone.

The first Thirsty Thursday of the season will take place on Thursday, April 21, followed by the second Friday Night Fireworks on April 22.

The homestand will conclude on Saturday with the annual Bark in the Park promotion where fans are encouraged to bring their dogs to the game. It will also be the second Grand Slam Saturday of the year presented by Newschannel 8.

Tickets for all four Drillers games in the homestand are now on sale at the ONEOK Field Ticket Office at 201 N. Elgin Avenue and TulsaDrillers.com. Tickets are also available by calling (918)744-5901.

Dealing With the Cards: Tulsa and Springfield split their 32 meetings last season. Neither team enjoyed a home field advantage with both finishing 8-8 in the other team's ballpark.

Reusable Bag Giveaway Rescheduled: he Reusable Bag Giveaway has been rescheduled for Thursday June 2. Fans attending the game on April 21, original date for the giveway, will receive a voucher that can be exchanged for one (1) General Admission Ticket to any remaining game during the 2011 regular season.

"Wheels" On Fire: Outfielder Tim Wheeler enjoyed plenty of success in his first six games at ONEOK Field. In the season opening homestand, Wheeler hit .364, with 8 hits, 3 home runs, 3 runs scored, 9 runs batted in and 2 stolen bases.

Attendance: Paid attendance for the first six regular season games at ONEOK Field was 35,056, an average of 5,843 fans for each opening.

The unofficial definition for "palooza" is an all-out crazy party, and we are planning a party to celebrate National Pineapple Upside down Cake Day! There will be Pineapple Olympics and fans are encouraged to put on their best Hawaiian shirts. Keystone Beer's Keith Stone will even be on hand to help us celebrate.

THIRSTY THURSDAY / "GO GREEN" NIGHT

Quench your thirst at ONEOK Field tonight as 12oz Bud and Bud Lights and 16oz Pepsi Products will be on sale for only $1 each! Also, The Metropolitan Environmental Trust encourages "Going Green" by creating awareness about recycling. Drillers' players and coaches will wear special Green Jerseys during the game to help promote the cause! It is all presented courtesy of the M.E.T., Mix 96 and Urban Tulsa Weekly.

Following the action on the field, a spectacular Fireworks Display will light up the nighttime sky over downtown Tulsa courtesy of PSO.

NEWS CHANNEL 8 GRAND SLAM SATURDAY / BARK IN THE PARK

One of the Drillers' most popular promotions, Bark in The Park, is back again this season, presented by the Humane Society, VCA Animal Hospitals and NewsChannel 8! Dog owners are encouraged to bring their "best buds" to ONEOK Field to enjoy an evening of baseball together! All dogs are admitted Free with their owner, and doggy tickets can be picked up at all Tulsa Humane Society and VCA Animal Hospital locations (donations are suggested to help benefit the Humane Society of Tulsa).

All Dogs MUST have up to date Vaccinations in order to gain admittance to ONEOK Field!
