Two players assigned to Bridgeport

Forwards Jeremy Colliton and Blake Comeau were assigned to the American Hockey League's Bridgeport Sound Tigers by their parent club, the New York Islanders.

Colliton played most of the 2005-06 season in Bridgeport, while Comeau joined the Sound Tigers for the playoffs in 2006. Colliton and Comeau were both second round draft choices by the Islanders in NHL Entry Drafts. Colliton was chosen 58th in the 2003 draft and Comeau was selected 47th overall in 2004.

Colliton, 6 foot 2 and 195 pounds, is a Blackie, ALTA native. The 21- year-old scored 21 goals and added 32 assists for 53 points in 66 games with the Sound Tigers last season. Colliton added a goal and an assist in 19 games with the Islanders a year ago.

Comeau, 6 foot 1 and 198 pounds, is a Meadow Lake, SASK native. The 20 year old Comeau netted 21 goals and 53 assists for 74 points in 60 games with the Western Hockey League's Kelowna Rockets in 2005-06. He registered three assists for three points in seven playoff games with the Sound Tigers last year.

The Sound Tigers, coming off a dramatic 4-3 overtime win against Hartford in their first preseason game, visited Providence on Wednesday.
