
Iowa Has 18 Roster Changes

DES MOINES, IA - Iowa Stars Director of Hockey Operations Scott White today announced that the Dallas Stars have assigned six players to the Des Moines-based Iowa Stars. White also confirmed that Iowa has sent six players to the ECHL and released six others.
Forwards: Loui Eriksson, Junior Lessard, Joel Lundqvist
Defensemen: Nicklas Grossman, Vadim Khomitskiy
Goaltender: Dan Ellis
Forwards Loui Eriksson, Junior Lessard, Defenseman Nicklas Grossman and Goaltender Dan Ellis all skated in Iowa last season. With these assignments, there are now 12 players in camp that skated with Iowa last season: Krys Barch, Chris Conner, Dan Ellis, Loui Eriksson, Nicklas Grossman, Dan Hacker, Yared Hagos, Marius Holtet, Junior Lessard, Mario Scalzo, Janos Vas, Francis Wathier. Steve Silverthorn served as the backup goaltender several times last season but did not see game action.
Lundqvist was Dallas' third round selection in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft, while Vadim Khomitskiy was taken in the fourth round of the same draft.
Iowa in-turn sent the following players to their ECHL affiliate, the Idaho Steelheads: Goaltender John Daigneau: Forwards Taggart Desmet, John Hopson, Greg Rallo, and Jon Smyth; Defenseman Kory Scoran.
Iowa also released the following players:> Defensemen Chris Barr, Dale Butland and Matthew Medley; Forwards Jamie Fraser, Jason Dixon and Ryan Smyth.
The Stars return home to face the Rivermen this Friday night. Game time at Wells Fargo Arena is 7:05 PM. Iowa then travels to Omaha to take on the Knights for Game Three of the exhibition season on Saturday night. Game time is 7:00 PM. The Stars wrap up their Training Camp and the exhibition season on Sunday, October 1st against Omaha. The puck drops at 5:05 PM in Downtown Des Moines. Tickets are on sale now for both home games at the Wells Fargo Arena Box Office, at any area Dahl's locations or online at www.dahlstickets.com.
IOWA STARS INFO: The Stars Opening Night is scheduled for Thursday, October 12th against Houston. Wells Fargo Arena game time is 7:05 PM.
