Two Big Innings Propel Cyclones to Win

JERSEY SHORE, NJ - Matt O'Neill and JT Schwartz had bases clearing triples and Brooklyn rolled to a 10-4 win over the BlueClaws on Tuesday night at ShoreTown Ballpark.

The BlueClaws (16-28) fall to 1-6 against Brooklyn (20-23) so far this year.

Jersey Shore took a 2-0 lead in the first inning on a two-run single from Casey Martin. They added a run in the third on an RBI single by DJ Stewart to go up 3-0.

The lead, however, would not last the fifth. After starter Kyle Glogoski came out following four scoreless innings, Brooklyn came back to take the lead. With one out and the bases loaded, Matt O'Neill tripled in three runs to tie the game. O'Neill came home on an infield single by JT Schwartz to give the Cyclones a 4-3 lead.

Brooklyn then tacked on six more in the sixth, on just one hit. three walks and two hit batsman brought in two runs. Schwartz then tripled home three and scored on a throwing error to cap a six run, one hit Brooklyn inning.

Dominic Pipkin (1-1) was charged with seven runs/six earned in 1.2 innings to take the loss. Jonathan Hughes came on and gave up three runs/two earned.

DJ Stewart had three hits for Jersey Shore.

Oscar Rojas (1-1) gave up one unearned run in five innings to earn the win.

The teams continue their series on Wednesday night at 7:05 pm. RHP Griff McGarry starts for Jersey Shore.
