Greenville, SC - In their first game of the series with the Winston Salem Dash, the Greenville Drive lost after an extra inning. The game ended with a final score of Winston Salem 12-11.

Matthew Lugo started things off for the Drive with an RBI single bringing home Ceddanne Rafaela. Winston Salem turned around and scored three runs at the bottom of the first to make the score 3-1.

After a no scoring second inning, Nick Decker was able to score a run thanks to a hit from Ceddanne Rafaela at the top of the third.

The huge factor inning for the Drive took place in the fourth where Greenville was able to score five runs. Two wild pitches from Dash pitcher Luis Moncada scored two runs for the Drive. Then a single by Nick Decker scored another followed by Tyler McDonough's line drive plated two more to take the lead.

A homer from Joe Davis at the top of the sixth extended the Drive's lead further, but the Dash had not given up. Winston Salem scored four runs at the bottom of the sixth to make it a close score of Greenville 8-7.

Three more runs for the Dash at the bottom of the seventh made the win look promising. Nevertheless, Greenville hit them back with three runs at the top of the eighth owing to a triple from Ceddanne Rafaela sending three men home.

When the Dash scored another run at the bottom of the ninth, a tenth inning took place. However, Greenville was unable to score and allowed the Dash to score a final run to win the game.

The series in Winston Salem continues tomorrow night at 7:00.
