Brooklyn Cyclones News Release

Lakewood, NJ - The Cyclones rallied from an early 3-0 lead with 10 runs to defeat the BlueClaws 10-4 on Tuesday Night at ShoreTown Ballpark. Matt O'Neill and JT Schwartz each had four RBI to pace the Brooklyn bats. RHP Oscar Rojas (4-1) tossed 5.0 near-perfect innings of relief to pick up the win, striking out eight and allowing just an unearned run.

LHP Nick Zwack made the start for the Cyclones and quickly found himself in trouble in the bottom of the first. Jared Carr singled to start the frame and Ethan Wilson followed with a one-out double to put a pair of runners in scoring position. Casey Martin took advantage of the scoring chance with a two-RBI single to give the BlueClaws a 2-0 lead.

The lead would expand to 3-0 in the bottom of the fourth when Jersey Shore tacked on an unearned run compliments of an RBI double from DJ Stewart.

Kyle Glogoski made the start for Jersey Shore and was impressive over his 4.0 shutout innings of work, scattering two hits and a pair of walks while striking out five. But when he left the game the Brooklyn bats came to life.

In the top of the fifth Branden Fryman reached on an error to start the threat and Joe Suozzi added a single before Shervyen Newton was plunked by a pitch to load the bases with one out. Matt O'Neill took advantage of the scoring chance and roped his fourth triple of the season to clear the bags and knot things up at 3-3. JT Schwartz followed with an RBI single to score O'Neill and put Brooklyn ahead for good.

An inning later the Cyclones exploded for six runs, with the big blow coming on a bases clearing triple from JT Schwartz, who was able to stroll home thanks to a throwing error on the play to give the Cyclones slugger a "little league home run" that made it 10-3.

Jersey Shore would plate a run in the bottom of the ninth to make the final score 10-4.
