Arkansas Diamonds News Release

The Arkansas Twisters made two moves before this weekend's match up with Albany. The Twisters were assigned quarterback Travis Motley and kicker John Butler.

Motley, 21, finished his college career at Mansfield University in Pennsylvania last fall, and he was playing with the Myrtle Beach Stingrays in the National Indoor Football League this spring. Motley is considered one of the best quarterbacks to ever play at Mansfield after breaking the school record for passing after throwing for over 7500 yards and 62 touchdowns during his four year career. Last fall, he passed for nearly 2000 yards and 22 touchdowns with only six interceptions.

Motley will start ahead of Kevin Williams in order to let Williams move back to the offensive specialist receiving spot where he led the Twisters in receiving yards and touchdowns last season.

Butler returns to the Twisters and will play in his first game in nearly three years. Butler has kicked in six games for the Twisters, converting 27 of his 34 point after attempts. His longest field goal was made from 43 yards out back in 2000, and he's scored 51 points in his Twisters career.

The Twisters (1-8) play the Albany Conquest (3-6) this Saturday at 7:05pm(CST).
