
Wolves named celebrity reading partner by NEA-New Hampshire

MANCHESTER, N.H. (June 9, 2004) - The Manchester Wolves (arenafootball2) are proud to announce they have been selected by the National Education Association-New Hampshire to be the state's celebrity reading partner for 2005. In that capacity, the Wolves will host a number of special reading events at schools across New Hampshire next year as part of the NEA's Read Across America campaign.
"We (The Wolves) are excited and honored to be named as the NEA's new celebrity reading partner for New Hampshire in 2005," Wolves General Manager Angelo Mazzella said. "This is a great opportunity for our organization to take an active role in teaching kids the importance of reading in today's world."
As a special kickoff to this new partnership and the close of yet another successful school year, the Wolves have invited NEA-New Hampshire members from across New Hampshire to the team's June 25 home game vs. the Louisville Fire at the Verizon Wireless Arena. For this night the Wolves have also extended a special ticket offer to NEA-New Hampshire members.
The show begins at 5 p.m. with an exciting pre-game concert courtesy of Spiderbiteradio.com, featuring popular local music acts, i and Sean McCarthy. The action inside the arena kicks off at 7:30 p.m. The first 3,000 fans in attendance will also receive a FREE Blitz bobblehead doll, courtesy of Catholic Medical Center and FNX Radio.
Started in 1998 as a way to get kids excited about reading, NEA's Read Across America has become the nation's largest reading event. The year-round program culminates each year on or near Dr. Seuss's birthday (March 2). NEA-New Hampshire represents more than 15,000 teachers and school employees in the state's public schools. This year the organization celebrates its 150th anniversary.
