Albany River Rats News Release

ALBANY, NY - The Albany River Rats today unveiled their Time Warner Cable Cup jersey, which will be worn exclusively during their 12-game season series against the Adirondack Phantoms.

The new uniform replicates the classic sweater worn by "Rowdy" The Rat in Albany's primary team logo, complete with white "Albany" lettering across the chest. The jerseys, pictured below, will be worn with black pants and a black helmet.

"This is something that Equipment Manager Jason McGrath and I have been working on for a long time," said River Rats Director of Operations and jersey designer, Jim Chapman. "We first discussed the possibility of recreating the jersey that Rowdy wears in our logo back in 2003 and this year, it feel like the stars finally aligned. We're thrilled with the result and can't wait to see them in action this season."

The River Rats will debut the jersey's on Saturday, October 17th when they travel to Adirondack for the first Time Warner Cable Cup game of the season at 7:00 p.m.

The River Rats next home game is on Friday, October 23rd at 7:00 p.m. against the Rochester Americans. Season and flexible ticket packages for the 2009-10 are now on sale at the River Rats executive offices at the Times Union Center, by calling (518) 487-2244 or by logging onto www.albanyriverrats.com.
