Tucson, AZ - The Tucson Sugar Skulls announce the return of four standout players for the 2025 Indoor Football League (IFL) season. All second-year returners, AJ Beach, JaQuez Jackson, Brian Smith, and Chris Jackson bring valuable experience, defensive power, and offensive versatility to the Sugar Skulls as they aim for a competitive season.

AJ Beach - Defensive Back

Last season, Beach appeared in five games, racking up seven solo tackles, three assists, and 8.5 sacks. A transfer from Appalachian State, Beach also played at Savannah State and Georgia Military College, where he excelled as a return specialist and earned NJCAA All-American honors with two interceptions and a combined 632 return yards.

JaQuez Jackson - Linebacker

Jackson had a productive 2024 season with 29 solo tackles, 28 assists, and a total of 43 tackles. A former Georgia Tech standout, Jackson racked up over 240 tackles during his college career and earned second-team All-AAC Defense honors. Known for his exceptional playmaking abilities, Jackson's high school career was marked by accolades, including the 2017 Georgia Region 4-3A Defensive Player of the Year.

Brian Smith - Wide Receiver

In 2024, Smith logged 18 receptions for 337 yards and nine touchdowns across several key matchups. A former Louisiana Lafayette player, Smith earned first-team All-Conference honors twice at Glendale Community College before moving to the Division I level. His experience and playmaking skills make him a vital component of the Sugar Skulls' receiving corps.

Chris Jackson - Wide Receiver

Known for his speed, Jackson recorded one touchdown and averaged 24 yards over four games. Jackson's journey began at BYU, where he contributed as a wide receiver and running back, amassing 61 receiving yards and 59 rushing yards. With experience at both BYU and Mt. San Antonio Junior College, Jackson's agility and versatility make him an asset on offense.
