
Tucson Sugar Skulls Sign Three New Rookies

Tucson, AZ - The Tucson Sugar Skulls announced three new player signings for the 2025 Indoor Football League season: first-year IFL players Cornel Jones, Jordan Ambrose, and Tariq Bracy.
Cornel Jones (LB) joins the Sugar Skulls for his first professional season in the IFL after a solid collegiate career at Purdue University. Over three seasons, he played in 27 games (15 starts) and amassed 99 tackles, 14.5 tackles for loss, 3.5 sacks, and two pass breakups. Jones' standout sophomore season in 2018 saw him lead the team with 12.5 tackles for loss, ranking 11th in the Big Ten.
Jordan Ambrose (QB) brings his leadership and play making ability from Defiance College, where he had a record-breaking career as the Yellow Jackets' quarterback. In his senior season (2023), he passed for 1,842 yards and 17 touchdowns, rushed for 589 yards, and scored seven rushing touchdowns. He became the first player in program history to surpass 1,500 passing yards and 500 rushing yards in a single season, earning back-to-back HCAC All-Conference Honorable Mention honors.
Tariq Bracy (DB) joins Tucson following a successful collegiate career at Notre Dame, where he excelled on defense and special teams. Across four seasons, he accumulated 135 tackles, 10 tackles for loss, two interceptions, and multiple forced turnovers. In his senior year (2022), he contributed 39 tackles, six tackles for loss, a sack, and an interception while showcasing his ability to make plays in critical moments.
