Las Vegas Aviators News Release

Las Vegas starter Brad Mills held Tucson without a hit until the eighth inning Sunday as the 51s beat the Padres, 5-0. Despite multiple hard-hit balls, Mills pitched seven no-hit innings before Matt Clark led off the eighth with a single to right field, the only Padres hit of the day. Tucson has now been shut out just twice this season.

Las Vegas scored in the first when Adam Loewen hit an RBI double off the left field wall, and added three more in the third on a home run by Jayson Nix, his third of the series. Manny Mayorson hit an RBI double off Padres starter Jon Leicester in the sixth inning for the fifth Las Vegas run. Leicester pitched six innings, allowing four earned runs in the loss.

After a stretch where they won 12 of 13 games the Padres have now lost five of their last six.
