Trivino and Desjardins Loaned to the AHL

ESTERO, FL - The Florida Everblades announced Tuesday that forward Corey Trivino (pictured left) has been loaned to the Portland Pirates of the American Hockey League, while forward Gabriel Desjardins (pictured right) has been loaned to the Charlotte Checkers of the AHL.
Just hours after being announced as the Sher-Wood Hockey ECHL Player of the Week on Tuesday morning, Trivino returns to Portland where he logged four assists in 11 appearances last season. In just five games played with the Everblades this season, Trivino recorded nine points (6g, 3a) with a +10 rating.
The 6-1, 193-pound center registered 43 points (11g, 32a) in 46 games played with the Stockton Thunder last season. Trivino began his professional career with the Everblades during the 2012-13 season registering 51 points (18g, 33a) in 63 games. He also tallied 11 points (3g, 8a) in 13 playoff appearances in the spring of 2013. The Toronto, Ontario native registered 73 points (31g, 42a) during his four-year career at Boston University. Trivino was selected by New York Islanders in the second round (#36 overall) in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft.
Desjardins, 21, joins the Checkers having posted nine points (4g, 5a) in 12 game appearances with the Everblades this season. The 6-0, 212-pound forward made nine appearances last season with the Lake Erie Monsters of the American Hockey League last season before having his season cut short due to an injury.
Desjardins (pronounced DAY-ghar-DAN) had a productive career in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League from 2008-2013 totaling 185 points (85g, 100a) in stints with the Halifax Mooseheads, Quebec Remparts, and the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies.
The Montreal Native, Desjardins, posted a career best 74 points (32g, 42a) in 66 regular season games, along with 15 points in 14 postseason contests with Rouyn-Noranda during the 2012-13 campaign.
The Everblades will return home this Friday and Saturday to battle the Gwinnett Gladiators at Germain Arena. Friday's game is set for 7:30 p.m. while Saturday's game begins at 7:00 p.m
