Triana Named Pointstreak Pitcher of the Week

GARY, IN - The American Association announced today they named Gary SouthShore RailCats pitcher Karl Triana the Pointstreak Pitcher of the Week. The award comes after Triana threw the franchise's first no-hitter in a 1-0 win over the Kansas City T-Bones on June 2nd.
Pointstreak is the official statistician for the American Association and sponsors the award. The last RailCat to receive the honor was current pitcher Charle Rosario, who won it on July 13, 2015.
The no-hitter came in the final game of a four game series with KC. Triana's gem was the first RailCat no-hitter and the fourth in American Association history. The Colombian threw 118 pitches and faced just 29 batters. He struck out the last batter he faced. The T-Bones did not have a runner advance past second base. The RailCats won the game on a walk-off single with two outs in the bottom of the 9th inning. His combined ERA for the two games was 1.80.
On the season, Triana has a 2-1 record with a 5.73 ERA. He is a 6'2" right-hander from Cartagena, Colombia.
