Kearney, NE - The Tri-City Storm defeated the Chicago Steel by a final score of 5-3 Friday night at the Viaero Center and maintained its three-point lead in the USHL league standings. Tri-City has won each of its last six games, tying a season high for most consecutive wins. In the win, the Storm's defense provided four of the team's five goals. Ronnie Attard netted two goals, with Joe Berg, Zac Jones, and Keaton Pehrson also scoring goals in the win. Tri-City returns to action tomorrow night at the Viaero Center in another game against the Chicago Steel. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:05pm. The Storm jumped on the board early with Zac Jones netting his 6th goal of the season at the 3:35 mark of the period. Jones' goal was assisted by Connor McMenamin, who recorded assists on three of the Storm's five goals in the game. Chicago responded with a goal from Robert Mastrosimone in the final four minutes of the period to tie the game. Tri-City's Joe Berg scored his 6th goal of the season less than thirty seconds later to give Tri-City is 2nd lead of the game. Berg's goal was scored at 16:40 of the 1st period and was assisted by Asa Kinnear and Brad Morrissey. Tri-City outshot Chicago 14-8, and carried a one goal lead into the 2nd period.

The Steel netted the first two goals of the 2nd period to take a 3-2 lead in the game. Chicago's first goal of the 2nd period was scored just 19 seconds into the period by Nick Abruzzese. The Steel offense provided another goal at the 8:11 mark of the period on a goal by John Spetz. The Steel's only lead of the game last just over a minute as the Storm tied the game up on a on a goal from Ronnie Attard at the 9:21 mark of the 2nd period. Attard's goal was assisted by Connor McMenamin and Zac Jones. The Storm offense added another goal with under three minutes to go in the 2nd period to give Tri-City a 4-3 lead entering the 3rd period. Keaton Pehrson scored his 5th goal of the year at 17:04 of the 2nd period on a goal assisted by Connor McMenamin and Filip Forsmark. The Storm outshot the Steel 9-8 in the 2nd period and led by one goal.

The only goal scored in the 3rd period was an empty net goal scored by Ronnie Attard with under one minute to play in the game. Attard netted his 22nd goal of the season at 19:25 of the 3rd period to seal the win for the Storm. Filip Forsmark recorded the only assist on the goal. Tri-City outshot Chicago 30-22 in the game.

Isaiah Saville stopped 19 of 22 shots in the win to record his 20th win of the season in net.
