Everett Silvertips News Release

Kennewick, WA - Shane Harper and Jesse Burt scored the lone goals for Everett in a 5-2 loss to Tri-Cities Friday night. Kent Simpson in one of his strongest performances made 36 saves against a strong Americans squad. Zack Dailey and Taylor Ellington added an assist each Saturday night. The loss was the first time this season Everett did not earn a point after having the lead through two periods.

This brings the 'Tips record to 25-27-7-2 with 59 points in 61 games played taking them to seventh place in the Western Conference, standing one point behind the Seattle Thunderbirds. Silvertips are now 4-4-1-1 in their last 10 games. The Silvertips return home to action Saturday night facing off against the Kelowna Rockets at 7:05.

Everett opened up the scoring on the power play when Dailey skated the puck behind the net, changed directions and offered a no look backhand pass to Harper, who snapped the puck over Chet Pickard's shoulder for his 28th goal of the season at 13:03. Tri-City tied the score at 2:10 of the second period when Brooks Macek scored his sixth of the season. Burt would regain Everett's lead when the Silvertips forward won a battle while shorthanded stealing the puck at the red line and skating in for a breakaway beating Pickard and moving the score to 2-1.

Mitch Fadden tied the game on a partial breakaway, slapping the puck past Simpson from the top of the right circle at 1:23 of the third period. It would be all Americans the rest of the period when Brett Plouffe and Jordan Messier scored a goal each to bring the score to 4-2 Tri-City. Brendan Shinnimin scored on an empty net with less than a second left in the game to make the score 5-2 in favor of Tri-City.
